Let's Gossip

I have been on the hunt for a table like this for a while and finally found one!  What a beautiful piece of furniture!  I know I say that about all of the pieces that I find.  This piece I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Napoleonic blue.  The fabric was old and had a little bit of a smell to it, so I re-padded and re-covered the seat.  This little gem would be perfect in a little nook or as extra seating in a room.  Really it would be great anywhere!  It will definitely be a conversation piece.  As always, let me know if you are interested!

   

   

Bedroom Set

I received these pieces as part of a set that I purchased for a customer. She only wanted the dressers (you can see them in a later post). Everyone paints these sets in a fresh coat of white. Which I like but I wanted to try something a little different. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite. It is sealed with a clear coat of wax and a coat of white wax to bring out the detail.  This is a different look than what I usually try. But after looking at it, I think it would be so great in a boy or a girls room. In a girls room, it looks a little like stone so you could play on the stone castle look. For a boy it reminds me of blue prints. You could put maps with the blue print feel on the wall or blue prints of trucks and planes. Here are some links to some ideas:

Have a seat. Take a load off-SOLD

This is a beautiful solid wood bench with STORAGE.  It would be perfect on you covered patio.  Or to add a pop of color to a mud room.  This bench was a love hate project.  I love the way it looks.  I hate painting those spindles.  I have already had someone driving thought the neighborhood stop me and ask about it as I was photographing it!!!  I mixed a custom color with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and sealed it with clear wax.

Chest of Drawers

I loved this chest of drawers the moment I saw it.  It was a little beaten up and needed some love. But I gladly took it off the hands of a college student who had started to tackle the project but could't finish it.
This Bassett chest of drawers is solid mahogany and has 5 working drawers.  The hardware is original and I just love how well they go with the new color.  I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco. I finished it with a dark wax to add richness to the color as well as a protector.

Minty Green

This cute little bedside table was so much fun to paint.  I played around with mixing colors and came up with this fresh mint color.  Can't you just picture it in a nursery (boy or girl) with white and grey accents?  Or in a little girl's room with gold and hot pink accents.  It would even be great in a sun room or a guest room.  There are so many options!  Take a look at the before and after pictures.  I used a mixture of Old White, Antibes and a touch of Paris Grey.   It has been sealed with clear wax.  New knobs have been added as well.  $130 contact me for more details.

Coffee Table- Sold

When I saw this table, I knew I had to have it.  I loved the sized.  I loved the shape.  I just knew I had to get it in my car!  Once I got it home, it was determined that it needed some serious work.  It was wobbly, coming apart and very dirty.  So I cleaned it up and took it apart.  I believe that at one point in it's life, it was a tall kitchen table and someone cut it to make it short.  It has the runners for a leaf underneath.  Whoever did cut it down just used a bunch of random screws to put it back together.  My fiancé helped me to to build a more sturdy bottom and we put it all back together.  Now it is a solid piece.  I used Annie Sloan Old White for the bottom potion and sealed it with a clear wax.  On the top, I sanded it down, stained it with a classic grey and sealed it with a matte polyurethane.   The dimensions are 42W x 18H.

I loved this piece and hated to let it go.  But there will always be more to paint!
